This included complaints about the captcha problems, slow performance, and also frequent glitches on the current IRCTC website.
The Railway Minister, at the very moment, called up a railway official to ask if they could roll out a new website in the next 30 days. He then informed the students that they will be rolling out an upgraded and faster website by July 15. The announcement gained the attention of all the users as videos of this announcement went viral on social media.

Improve Overall Ticket Booking Experience
This revamped IRCTC website will improve the overall ticket booking experience, as per a report by India Today. The ultimate goal of this website is to reduce delays and crashes that users generally face while booking tickets. It will try to resolve other issues faced by the users, especially during peak booking periods.
The upgraded version will include:
- New seat selection feature
- Faster and better ticket booking process
- Smoother and user-friendly interface as well as navigation
- Improved Tatkal booking status updates
- High traffic volumes will be better handled
A vast majority of railway ticket bookings in India accounts for online ticket booking. Railway officials mention that about 88 percent of train tickets are now booked digitally instead of at reservation counters.
