Yaniv Revach, the Consul General of Israel in Mumbai, mentioned that to make the memorial more worthy of Maharaj’s legacy, they sought cooperation from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He said that the CM immediately agreed to the same.
In his letter to Fadnavis, he has stated that a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Israel would serve as a powerful symbol of India and Israel’s close ties. Such a monument would be meaningful as Maharashtra and the Indian Jewish community share historical links. Many descendants of these links contribute to Israeli society.
He respectfully requested the Maharashtra government’s support and guidance for this initiative. Yaniv wished to collaborate with the Maharashtra government for artistic consultation, historical references, design considerations, and other assistance that may help the project. On Saturday, the Consul General of Israel in Mumbai, Yaniv Revach, met CM Devendra Fadnavis at the CM’s official residence. During his meeting, CM Fadnavis thanked Yaniv for his historic announcement about installing Maharaj’s statue in Israel on Shivrajyaabhishek Din.
He called the announcement a historic initiative and also mentioned that Maharashtra will extend complete support to Israel for the same. The move is set to strengthen cultural ties between Maharashtra and Israel.
Yuniv also mentioned that after PM Narendra Modi’s historic visit to Israel, the government of Israel is set to make special efforts to bring the people of the two countries closer together. `He said that after coming to Mumbai, he also started reading about the history of the Maratha Empire. His heroism has inspired people from all over India. Hence, he wishes to create more awareness about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Israel.
