The list enumerated five new airports in the world that were deemed to be the best in the world based on surveys over the course of the last 18 months. And guess what? The newly opened Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) was featured on the list. This marks a significant milestone, and quite an early one too, in the journey of this airport.

The NMIA, which officially began operations on December 25, 2025, was featured on the list of best new airports in the world. It ranked fourth on the list of five airports. The list was released by Skytrax, which is a world airline and world airport star rating programme.

The NMIA, ever since its inception, has been rapidly expanding operations across major cities in India. As such, its mention on the list is well-deserved. The first on this list was the Aso Kumamoto Airport in Mashiki, Japan. It officially began operations on March 23, 2023.
