Initiative To Begin From Ganga Dussehra
Prof. Ranvir Nandan, Council chairman of the Bihar State Religious Trust Council, mentioned that the initiative is set to begin on Ganga Dussehra with a grand aarti. This is because Ganga Dussehra is the day when it is believed that the river Ganga descended from heaven to earth.
Prof. Nandan said that the temples and monasteries in the areas along the Ganga had been asked to make the necessary arrangements. He mentioned that letters have also been sent out to trustees, managers, Mahants, and trust committee members of these temples and monasteries. These areas include Vaishali, Buxar, Chhapra, Bakhtiyarpur, Bhagalpur, Patna, Ara, Fatuha, and Munger.
This initiative aims to promote the important message of “Uninterrupted Ganga, Clean Ganga, Healthy Ganga, and Healthy Bihar.” Prof. Nandan mentioned that special campaigns will be launched periodically to maintain the purity and cleanliness of the river Ganga.
The Ganga aarti was started in Patna in the year 2011, following the models of Varanasi and Haridwar. The aarti initially took place every Saturday and Sunday, attracting a large number of devotees. Now, this grand and soulful experience will soon be expanded to other cities in Patna as well.
