Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, shared the free bus travel announcement on X. He mentioned that the students appearing for the NEET examination would only need to show their ID (identification card) in order to avail free travel.
In his post, CM Bhagwant Mann mentioned that many students who take the NEET examinations are poor and cannot afford the expenses to reach their examination centres. This waiving of bus fare will help students reach their respective examination centres without having to pay for the journey.
AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal uploaded a video message on X sharing the announcement. He mentioned that this decision by the Punjab state government is based on the suggestions given by NEET aspirants.

Addressing Feedback And Suggestions On The NEET Issue
Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, in his video message, mentioned that about 50 lakh people watched his previous video. In the previous video, he asked NEET aspirants to share their feedback and suggestions on the NEET issue. He mentioned that thousands of students shared their concerns of frustration, anxiety, and depression after the examination was cancelled and later rescheduled.
He said that some students shared complaints regarding travel expenses. They mentioned that they do not have enough money to pay for the travel expenses to reach their respective examination centre. Therefore, the Punjab government decided to waive the bus fare for all the students.
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) (NEET-UG) for 2026 was conducted on May 3. This examination was cancelled after allegations of irregularities in the examination process surfaced.
It was later rescheduled to June 21, 2026. This cancellation and rescheduling led to NEET aspirants sharing their concerns about financial and mental stress.
