Sunburn Festival 2026 Mumbai Announced: Ticket Prices, Sale Dates & Venue Details

Sunburn 2026

India’s biggest electronic music festival is entering a new chapter. Sunburn Festival has officially announced its 19th edition, and this year, the festival is making one of its biggest changes yet, shifting to Mumbai’s iconic Mahalaxmi Racecourse while introducing a tighter, high-energy two-day format.

Set to take place on December 18 and 19, 2026, Sunburn Festival 2026 will also conclude with a massive closing party at NSCI Dome on December 20, extending the celebrations into a three-day citywide experience.

For fans, however, the biggest question right now is simple: when do tickets go live, how much will they cost, and who gets early access? Here’s everything you need to know.

Sunburn Festival 2026: What You Must Know

Ticket Registrations Are Already Open For Sunburn Festival 2026

Sunburn has confirmed that registrations are now live exclusively on BookMyShow. Registering early matters this year because access to ticket sales will happen in phases, with select users getting a clear advantage before general sales begin.

Who Gets Early Access To Sunburn 2026?

The first ticket window is reserved for RuPay Credit Card holders.

RuPay Pre-Sale

Opens: May 14, 2026

Time: 12 PM (Noon)

This means RuPay Credit Card users will get the first opportunity to purchase tickets before anyone else. Historically, early-bird inventory at Sunburn tends to move extremely fast, especially for GA and VIP categories.

After that comes the second phase.

Registered User Pre-Sale

Only users who have already registered on BookMyShow will be eligible for this access window.

Finally, ticket sales open for everyone.

Sunburn Festival 2026 Ticket Prices

As per official pricing released by Sunburn Festival, tickets are divided across GA, VIP, and Fanpit categories, with pricing varying depending on the sale phase.

The organisers have also confirmed that 50% pay-now options will be available for buyers.

Fans should note that these are launch-phase ticket prices and rates may increase further in later sale rounds depending on demand and ticket availability. This is something Sunburn has historically followed with staggered pricing slabs as the festival date approaches. Hospitality experiences and premium access categories could also be introduced later at significantly higher price points.

Why The Mahalaxmi Racecourse Move Matters

For years, Sunburn has evolved across cities and formats, but the shift to Mahalaxmi Racecourse feels particularly significant.

The venue already carries major history within India’s live music scene. Some of the city’s biggest electronic performances have happened there over the years, including sets by Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, and Martin Garrix.

Accessibility is also a huge factor. Compared to destination festival formats that require long-distance travel planning, Mahalaxmi offers easier connectivity for fans across Mumbai and nearby cities. For Sunburn, this shift appears less about reducing scale and more about intensifying the experience.

Sunburn Is Moving Towards A More Concentrated Festival Experience

Instead of stretching the festival across multiple slower days, Sunburn 2026 is being positioned as a sharper, more immersive two-day format.

The organisers describe this edition as more “concentrated” and “high-impact,” with programming focused around keeping energy levels consistently elevated throughout the experience.

The festival’s new theme, “Awaken the Core,” also signals a noticeable creative shift. Rather than relying purely on spectacle, Sunburn appears to be leaning into a deeper audience-focused identity, one built around immersion, crowd energy, and community culture.

Speaking on the announcement, Sunburn CEO Karan Singh said the festival’s evolution has always been driven by audience experience and by creating moments that align with global live entertainment standards.

Summing Up

The lineup is still under wraps, but organisers have already hinted at major international names and immersive experiences being announced in the coming months.

Given Sunburn’s history of bringing artists like David Guetta, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, and The Chainsmokers to India, expectations around the 2026 lineup are already running high.
