In a major update for Mumbaikars, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a whopping 30-hour water cut starting today, 5th May. This water cut is a part of a huge infrastructure enhancement project that promises to solve long-term supply issues in South and Central Mumbai. The Amar Mahal-Pratiksha Nagar water tunnel connects the Trombay Reservoir to Parel, which will aid in water supply. Nearly half of Mumbai will be affected by these water cuts.

Owing to the connection of the Amar Mahal-Pratiksha Nagar water tunnel, the existing supply lines in the Turbhe high-level and low-level reservoirs must be shut down.

The water cut starts from 10 AM on May 5 and will last till 4 PM on May 6. The supply pressure is expected to return to normal by late night of May 6, 2026.

M East and M West Wards: Chembur, Govandi, Mankhurd, including Diamond Garden, Maitri Park, Swastik Park, Chembur Camp, Sindhi Society, Mahul Village, Cheetah Camp, and Shivaji Nagar.

L Ward: Kurla and Chunabhatti, including Nehru Nagar, Shiv Srishti, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Qureshi Nagar, Chunabhatti Phatak, and Everard Nagar.

N Ward: Ghatkopar and Vidyavihar, including Rajawadi, Pant Nagar, Garodia Nagar, Ramabai Nagar, and Vikhroli Village.

F North and F South Wards: Wadala, Sion, Parel, Sewri, including Pratiksha Nagar, New Cuffe Parade, Sion East/West, Dr. B.A. Road, Jerbai Wadia Road, and Parel.
