Noida International Airport

On March 28, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated Phase I of the Noida International Airport (NIA), backed by an investment of approximately ₹11,200 crore. Located in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, this airport is among the largest greenfield airport projects in India. And now, the airport has announced that commercial flights will begin on June 15, 2026, creating a fresh passage for travelers, airlines, and cargo services in the National Capital Region and Northern India.

This announcement comes after receiving approval for the Aerodrome Security Program (ASP) from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. This approval confirms that the airport’s security framework, systems, and operating procedures are in place and aligned with regulatory requirements, in preparation for the launch of commercial services.

IndiGo will launch the inaugural flight from the Noida International Airport, with Akasa Air and Air India Express set to follow soon after. This airport will enhance connectivity between the greater Delhi area and Western Uttar Pradesh with various destinations across India and beyond.
