Fortunately, Google has introduced a solution you’ll appreciate: the Find Hub. This new feature helps you track your lost luggage, providing peace of mind during your travels. How Does Google’s Find Hub Work
With Find Hub, you can now share the location of your compatible tracking device with airlines to help locate your lost bags. Whether you’ve misplaced checked luggage on a long flight or need to find your carry-on, Find Hub makes it easier to keep tabs on your belongings.
Here’s how it works:
- Find and Share: Use the Find Hub app to select your lost item and tap “share item location” to create a secure URL.
- Provide to the Airline: Copy this link and paste it into the airline’s app or website so they can track your luggage’s location in real-time.
- Stop Sharing Anytime: You can easily stop sharing your item’s location directly in the app at any time.
The best thing about this is that Google prioritizes user privacy in the Find Hub network. You control who sees your luggage’s location, and your device’s location data is encrypted. You can end sharing at any time, and links will automatically expire after a week for your safety. Additionally, sharing stops as soon as your phone recognizes the item is back with you.
Google has collaborated with various airlines to ensure this feature is widely supported where needed. Over 10 major airlines – Ajet, Air India, China Airlines, the Lufthansa Group (Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Swiss International Airlines), Saudia Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines and Turkish Airlines, now accept Find Hub locations to help recover your baggage, with more airlines, like Qantas, expected to join soon.
Additionally, Google is partnering with Samsonite to integrate Find Hub technology into its latest suitcase designs. This means compatible Samsonite luggage will connect to this network immediately, allowing you to keep track of your items with ease and travel with confidence.
