Ayodhya Ram Temple Now Fully Complete – Your Guide To Timings, Entry & How To Reach

Ayodhya Ram Mandir

The Ayodhya Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh has emerged as one of India’s most visited pilgrimage sites — especially after the opening of the newly consecrated Ram Darbar in 2025, bringing the divine presence of Lord Ram and his family for public darshan. As of mid‑2025, over 55 million devotees have already visited the temple, reflecting its immense spiritual appeal. With rising pilgrim interest, the temple authorities have introduced a structured pass system, regulated time‑slots, and clear visitor guidelines. This article is a complete guide to help you plan your visit, including when to go, how to book, what to expect, and travel logistics.

What’s New – Temple Completion & Recent Updates

The Ram Darbar featuring the newly consecrated idols of Lord Ram, Mata Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughna, and Hanuman – opened for public darshan on 14 June 2025 with a regulated pass-based system.

A significant milestone followed on 25 November 2025, when a traditional Dhwajarohan ceremony marked the completion of the temple’s main spire and outer wall. As part of the ritual, an auspicious saffron flag was hoisted atop the temple’s central shikhara by PM Modi, symbolising the architectural completion of the complex. This event quietly reaffirmed the spiritual sanctity of the site while preparing Ayodhya for the next phase of increased pilgrim movement.

How to Book – Entry & Passes

  • All darshan/aarti passes are issued via the official booking portal of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra (SRJBTK). The booking site is: online.srjbtkshetra.org.
  • The passes are free of cost – including “Sugam Darshan” (for faster access/wheelchair/easier movement) and free aarti passes.
  • Typically, one booking can include multiple devotees (when permitted) – useful for families or groups.
  • Children (especially under 10 years) may not require a separate pass when accompanying guardians – check at time of booking.

Entry Rules, Code of Conduct & What’s Not Allowed

As per visitor guidelines from the trust:

  • Prohibited: Mobile phones, large bags, outside prasad/flowers, cameras, leather items, etc. These items generally need to be deposited outside before entry.
  • ID required: A valid government-issued ID (such as Aadhaar, passport, or Voter ID) must be presented – same ID as used for booking.
  • It is advised to arrive 30-45 minutes before the allotted slot/aarti time to complete security, token/pass verification, and locker check.
  • For the elderly or differently-abled: “Sugam Darshan” offers easier access, with wheelchair assistance and a facility for guided darshan.

How to Reach – Transport & Connectivity

  • By Air: The nearest airport is Maharishi Valmiki International Airport (Ayodhya), approximately 8–10 km from the temple area. Taxis, local autos, and buses provide connectivity.
  • By Train: The main stations are Ayodhya Dham Junction and Ayodhya Cantt – from these, local transport (auto-rickshaw, e-rickshaw, taxi) can take you to the temple.
  • By Road: Ayodhya is well-connected via national highways; regular buses and shared cabs operate from major cities like Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur.

Practical Tips & Advice for Pilgrims

  • Book early – 15 days in advance: Slots (especially for aarti and evening darshan) get filled quickly. New slots usually appear at midnight on the booking portal.
  • Go during less crowded hours – early morning (first slot) or late evening/night slots tend to be less crowded and more peaceful.
  • Travel light: Only essential items – ID, pass, minimal personal items. Avoid large bags or unnecessary things since lockers/deposit counters are standard.
  • If travelling with senior citizens or children – use “Sugam Darshan” for easier access, quicker entry, and minimal waiting times.
  • Check pass status & timing once again – before leaving: Aarti or darshan times may shift due to festivals, maintenance, or administrative changes. Always verify the slot details via the official portal.

Summing Up

The Ayodhya Ram Temple now follows a structured, pass-based system to ensure smooth darshan at the newly opened Ram Darbar. All passes are free and available online, with fixed time-slots and strict entry rules. Plan early, travel light, and keep your ID handy. Choosing morning or late-evening slots offers a calmer, more comfortable pilgrimage experience.
