ToggleState On The Plate Chapter 1: Goan Love
When somebody talks about Goan food, there are only three things that come to their mind: Fish curry, Feni, and rice. But little did they know that Goan cuisine is way more than just those three elements! Well, if you too thought so, we have some advice! No, we are not asking you to pack your bags and fly to Goa, just walk to C Dsouza in Mumbai, and you will automatically be teleported to Goa!
C Dsouza Bring Goa To Mumbai!
We are in Goa, ok, ok, our taste buds surely are! In the very maiden episode of unstumbled’s new IP, ‘State of the Plate’, we thought of relishing Goa’s delicious cuisine in Mumbai. And we found the perfect place: C Dsouza in Mumbai! And the best thing? We had one of the owners, Cari, to guide us through the amazing delicacies. It was Cari’s family that started this restaurant many years ago. The only thought they had was to bring the cuisine culture of Goa to Mumbai.
We Tried The Best Of The Best Goan Food
The first dish that we tried was Stuffed Squid, which was actually a fish shoved in a fish. It is stuffed with shrimp, onion, and a tangy red masala, and the dish simply felt heavenly! If spicy fish is your thing, hit this place ASAP!
The Ros Omlette was our next dish, which was introduced to us by the owner as the dish for hungry Goans who could not find food late at night. It is basically a street food dish where an omelette is made with the leftover xacuti. The dish has a coconutty gravy and was beautifully topped with raw onion.
The next dish was Goan Choris Pao and Goan Chicken Puff, without which our Goan food exploration would surely have been incomplete. Both the dishes were simply outstanding with the right amount of masala, filled with filling, cute presentations, and loads of love.
