India To Celebrate 79th Independence Day With ‘Naya Bharat’ Theme

Independence Day

On August 15, 2025, India will celebrate its 79th Independence Day. The British Parliament passed the Indian Independence Act on July 4, 1947, marking the end of British rule on August 15, 1947, when India and Pakistan became independent nations. Every year, Indians worldwide celebrate this day with zeal and a new theme. For the 79th Independence Day in 2025, the theme is ‘Naya Bharat.’ According to the official press release, this theme reflects the nation’s progress toward achieving the Government’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. The celebrations will honor the rise of a prosperous, secure, and determined Naya Bharat, inspiring further progress.

One helicopter will carry the national flag, while the other will display a flag commemorating ‘Operation Sindoor’. The captains of these helicopters, Wing Commander Vinay Poonia and Wing Commander Aditya Jaiswal, will lead this aerial salute.

Besides this, this year’s Independence Day will also highlight the achievements of Operation Sindoor. The logo for the operation will be featured in the decorations along Gyanpath. Similarly, the invitation cards for the event also feature the Operation Sindoor logo alongside a watermark of the Chenab bridge, depicting the rise of ‘Naya Bharat’.
