The Uttarakhand Tourism Department has introduced a new online registration system for visitors to Mussoorie. Tourists are required to sign up in advance, as there will be no registration available on-site. This initiative aims to reduce crowds at popular locations like Mall Road, Gun Hill, and Kempty Falls.
To register, go to the official website and fill in your personal information, including your travel dates, number of companions, and vehicle details, if applicable. After submitting, you will receive a verification code via SMS or email, which you need to enter. Once confirmed, you will get a QR code to save. This code will be needed at entry points, major attractions, and during hotel check-ins to ensure smooth management of visitor flow and services in the area.
A new regulation has been implemented due to the surge in tourist numbers, which doubled from 2022 to 2024.
