It has been recognized as one of the best cities in the world for nightlife, ranking in the top 10 on TimeOut’s list of the 20 best cities for an after-dark experience.
TimeOut surveyed thousands of individuals across some of the world’s most notable cities, asking them to evaluate both the quality and affordability of nightlife in their respective areas, covering everything from clubs to bars, pubs, and other nighttime activities. After thoroughly analyzing the data, they excluded cities with lower scores and focused on those with the highest ratings from each country. A panel of nightlife experts, including Time Out’s city editors and writers focused on arts and culture, then voted to determine their favorites.
Mumbai Bags 10th Spot, In Best Cities For Nightlife In The World
The final ranking of the world’s best nightlife cities in 2025 showcases a remarkable variety of nightlife culture. At the top of the list is Las Vegas, which received an impressive rating from locals, with 88% describing the nightlife as “good” or “amazing.” Following close behind is Madrid, which tied with Paris for the third-highest number of votes from the panel. Locals gave Madrid a high rating, with 83% approving of its nightlife.
Paris secured the third position on the list despite being known for its high cost, achieving the joint-lowest affordability rating for nightlife, as only 23% of respondents found partying in the city to be cheap. The fourth and fifth spots went to Shanghai and Berlin, respectively. Completing the top 10 are Melbourne in sixth place, Brighton in seventh, Mexico City in eighth, Dubai in ninth, and Mumbai rounding out the list at tenth. Mumbai’s nightlife was rated highly by locals, with 84% describing it as either “good” or “amazing.”
Mumbai is also one of the most affordable cities for entertainment, as cited by 63 per cent of those surveyed.
