In March 2025, Mumbai unveiled its elevated nature pathway known as the Malabar Hill Nature Trail, situated in Malabar Hill, South Mumbai. This trail stretches 705 meters in length and 2.4 meters in width, offering impressive views of the Arabian Sea and Girgaum Chowpatty. And now, just four months after its opening, the trail has become quite popular among visitors. According to reports from Free Press Journal, the elevated walkway has attracted approximately 1.95 million visitors in the past four months, generating nearly Rs 40 lakhs in revenue for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

In just the first 48 hours, the walkway attracted 3,411 visitors. Although only 200 are allowed per hourly slot for crowd control. Entry costs INR 25 for Indians, while foreign visitors have to pay INR 100. The BMC’s green initiative quickly gained popularity, with slots booked 15 days in advance.

In terms of data and numbers, by June 30, the Malabar Hill Nature Trail had welcomed 155,842 visitors, generating revenue of INR 39,44,650. In July, around 40,000 visitors brought in approximately Rs 1 lakh.

What You Should Know About Malabar Hill Nature Trail

The new elevated nature trail in Mumbai has been built with a budget of INR 10 crore. Inspired by Singapore’s “Tree Top Walk,” this trail lets people walk among the treetops while ensuring the environment is saved. The pathway is made of wood and is raised on steel supports to reduce ecological impact.

One can explore over 100 plant species and spot various birds and reptiles along the way. One of the main attractions is the “Sea Viewing Deck,” which offers breathtaking views of the coastline. The trail includes safety features like emergency exit paths and a control room. It is open every day from 5 am to 8 pm, with hourly slots available for visitors.
