Goa is famous not only for its vibrant nightlife and pristine beaches but also for the lively festivals that take place throughout the year. Among these is the upcoming Goa Heritage Festival, organized by the Goa Department of Tourism. Scheduled from May 9th to May 11th, 2025, in Saligao, North Goa, this three-day event promises an exciting mix of traditional Goan music, folk dances, fashion showcases, and live performances, all celebrating the state’s rich cultural heritage and community spirit.

Goa Heritage Festival will kick off on Friday, May 9th, with an enchanting evening filled with traditional Goan music, followed by an inauguration ceremony and presentations honoring notable individuals. You can look forward to performances by the Kanta Gaude Troupe, featuring traditional dances like the Lamp Dance and Dekhni. The evening will culminate with a fashion show by Verma Dmello and a live music performance by Sidhannath Buyao & Band.

Speaking about the festival, the Director of Tourism, Shri Kedar Naik, said, “The Heritage Festival in Saligao is a showcase of Goa’s living traditions, artistic expression, and the vibrant spirit of our communities. Through such festivals, we aim to create deeper awareness of Goa’s cultural identity and support regenerative tourism that uplifts our people, preserves our heritage, and boosts the local economy.”

Goa Heritage Festival Is Free To Attend

On Saturday, May 10th, the festivities continue with more Goan music and various folk performances by the Kanta Gaude Troupe, showcasing dance forms such as Goff and Veerbhadra. The evening will light up with a lively show by RAGA – The Band. The accolade ceremony will follow, featuring a soulful performance by the well-known Goan singer Sonia Sirsat and her band.

The final day, Sunday, May 11th, will open with traditional Goan music and feature the Kanta Gaude Troupe presenting the Jagor and Corridinho, which is influenced by Portuguese culture. The Goa Heritage Festival will close with energetic performances from the RASM Band and Black Sapphire Band.

Admission to the event is free. It will take place at the football ground in Saligao from 6PM to 10PM.
