Skytrax World Airport Awards: India Wins Big
The Skytrax World Airport Awards are considered to be one of the most prestigious awards in the airline industry. The 2025 edition of these awards was held on 9th April during the Passenger Terminal Expo in Madrid, Spain.
The United Kingdom-based aviation rating platform organizes its annual award ceremony and airlines and airports around the world eagerly await each year’s winners. The ratings and winners are decided based on global passenger feedback, ensuring that the process is fair and transparent.

This year, Goa’s Manohar International Airport won not one, but two prestigious awards. It was honored with the ‘Cleanest Airport in India and South Asia’ as well as the ‘Best Airport under 5 Million Passengers’ awards. It opened just 4 years ago in 2022 and handles 15,000 passengers daily. This has earned it the title of being the 15th busiest airport in India.
However, that is not the only Indian airport to win at the prestigious award ceremony. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, won the title of ‘Best Airport Staff in India & South Asia’. The Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi earned the title of ‘Best Airport in India & South Asia’ – a truly commendable feat. Bangalore’s Kempegowda International Airport brought home the title of ‘Best Regional Airport in India & South Asia’. These international airports are some of the busiest airports in the country and help in boosting the economy of the cities they are situated in.
Asian Airports At The Top At The Skytrax World Airport Awards
Not just Goa’s Manohar International Airport, but many other airports in Asia stood on top at the awards. Singapore’s Changi Airport won the coveted ‘World’s Best Airport 2025’ title, followed by Hamad Airport and Haneda Airport at the second and third positions respectively.
