What makes it a convenient shooting location is its ease of access and the station layout that makes handling large crowds easier than other junctions. The movie shows Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone boarding the running train in classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge style. Even if it looks quite dreamy, we recommend not boarding a running train!

The YJHD gang sets out to explore Manali on the first day of the trek. This is when you get to see beautiful shots of Manali’s streets, temples, and its people. The friends also stopped by the famous Hidimba Temple, which became more popular after the film’s release. The temple is dedicated to Hidimba, a fierce warrior queen and Bheem’s wife in the Mahabharata. What’s also interesting is that the temple is surrounded by picturesque cedar forests that make the surroundings even more mysterious.
The town also features in a funny chase sequence when Bunny and his friends engage in a brawl with the local goons. The friends are chased by goons throughout the town as they try to fight and dodge them. In fact, the scene was so amusing that many theaters bursted into hooting and cheering! Also, this is the place where Bunny famously expresses that “shaadi is dal-chawal for 50 saal till you die!“

Pahalgam – Subhanallah

The hill town is also quite famous for its Amarnath Yatra. Thousands of pilgrims visit the Amarnath Cave in the holy month of Shravan which houses an ice shivlingam. Also, do you know that almost all trekking scenes in the film were shot in Kashmir instead of Manali?
The scenic hill town is also famous for its snow-clad peaks and lush green meadows that will make you feel like you’re in the scenic Alps. Not just that, it is famous for the Betaab Valley, which gets its name from the 1983 film of the same name. It is then safe to say that Pahalgam is indeed a dream for Bollywood fans!
