Our Experience With Aquasail 360

For our Luxe For Less segment on Instagram, we set sail on a private yacht, thanks to Aquasail 360. Run by Zia Hajeebhoy and Shakeel Kudrolli, the company offers yacht services in Mumbai, Mandwa, and Goa.

The Sailing School, located in Colaba, is uniquely designed with a nautical theme and we were quite excited the moment we stepped inside. The team briefs you about safety procedures, from where you head to the Gateway Of India to board your jetty, and in no time you’re aboard the stunning Beneteau 7 Sailboat. Inside the sailboat, you will also be taught how to navigate the seas and harness the wind. Once on the boat, you can lounge and feel the sun on your skin as you overlook the scenic sea and sunset views.

They also offer additional features like locker facilities, washrooms and showers (at the office/sailing lounge), light refreshments, bottled water, and sunscreen.

Tips For Sailing In Mumbai

  • Follow all safety procedures without fail if you wish to have the best experience possible.
  • Always check the weather conditions before setting sail. The best time to go sailing in Mumbai is between October and May. During this time, you’ll most likely have pleasant and clear weather. In the monsoon season, between June and September, ferry services and sailing are prohibited as Mumbai’s seas can become hostile.
  • Before wearing a life jacket, make sure it is in good condition. Do not wear a damaged jacket, and if it so, insist on replacing it with a good-quality life jacket.
  • Do not litter when you’re at the sea. Do not throw any waste in the water and instead make use of dustbins or disposable bags for storing trash.
  • Wear comfortable clothes and non-slip shoes to stay relaxed during the journey.
  • Carry and apply moisturizers and sunscreens at regular intervals to avoid sun damage to your skin.
  • If you are prone to seasickness or think that you might experience it, carry the necessary medication.

Summing Up

Sailing in Mumbai doesn’t have to mean breaking your bank. At affordable prices, you can get an experience at a fraction of the cost. With impressive sea views and luxury amenities, these yacht rentals, boat rides, and ferries will make sailing in Mumbai a memorable experience. So, what are you waiting for?
