120 Bahadur: Impactful Battle Scenes Wrapped In A Slow-Burning Narrative

When you think of Farhan Akhtar, films like Bhag Milkha Bhaag, Rock On, and Dil Dhadakne Do probably come to mind. As a big fan of his work, I was excited when I first watched the teaser for the movie 120 Bahadur. I made a promise to myself to watch it on its opening day. So, when it hit theaters on November 21, 2025, I was right there to see it.

Directed by Razneesh Ghai and produced by Excel Entertainment, 120 Bahadur features Farhan Akhtar in a vital role. It also stars Raashii Khanna, Ajinkya Deo, Vivaan Bhatena, Eijaz Khan, and Sparsh Walia in key roles. The film is inspired by real events, depicting the bravery of Indian soldiers during the 1962 Sino-Indian War, specifically their stand against Chinese forces in the Battle of Rezang La, which helped protect the Ladakh region.

But is the film truly worth your time? Let’s dive into this week’s unstumbled movie review of 120 Bahadur and share everything you need to know!

120 Bahadur Plot: What Is The Movie About

The film 120 Bahadur draws inspiration from real events surrounding the Indo-China War of 1962. It tells the compelling story of 120 soldiers who bravely faced 3,000 enemy troops amid harsh conditions in Ladakh during the Battle of Rezang La. It highlights the courageous stand of Charlie Company from the Kumaon Regiment as they fought Chinese forces in freezing temperatures. Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, portrayed by Farhan Akhtar, was the leader of this courageous unit, making the battle at Rezang La a remarkable and inspirational chapter in India’s military history.

The film primarily focuses on the war, the preparations involved, the experiences of soldiers at high altitudes, and the various aspects of how the battle was conducted. Central to the narrative is the unwavering motto, “Dada Kishan Ki Jai.”

Is It Worth A Watch

The central story is strong, and the plot is compelling. While the cinematography is beautiful, the landscapes are well captured, the film didn’t quite reach its full potential. The acting is sharp and powerful, and I must say that the supporting cast steals the spotlight from Farhan Akhtar, even though he delivers a strong performance in the role. However, the film suffers from a significant issue with its pacing. The first half is quite slow, focusing heavily on the build-up, while the real action only starts in the second half.

There are a few songs in the film that can be skipped, as they don’t significantly contribute to the storyline. This slow pace makes the movie feel somewhat flat and incomplete. Despite these flaws, several scenes are incredibly intense and spine-chilling. Ultimately, I would recommend watching this film on the big screen at least once for the sheer power of the story and the visual presentation. However, if war dramas aren’t usually your preference, you could easily skip it.

Overall, it’s a one-time watch, but don’t expect the usual power that comes with a Farhan Akhtar film.
